iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation Series

In this 3-day series we will dive into the 10 steps of iRest Yoga Nidra through teachings, short exercises, and one full guided iRest meditation each evening. iRest (Integrative Restoration), is a modern version of the ancient meditation practice yoga nidra.

In this series you’ll learn to cultivate the felt sense of ease and well-being, which is always available in every moment and underlies all that we do and feel. Practicing iRest puts the brain into a sleep state, allows the nervous system to rest and restore, and has been shown to be effective in treating PTSD, insomnia, depression, and anxiety.

This deep state of rest and relaxation offers a much needed respite from our hectic world and allows the body and mind to connect and heal as we welcome and allow sensations, feelings, thoughts, emotions and beliefs to arise and dissolve in awareness.

Meet Kim Humphrey:

Kim was introduced to yoga in 1999 after a series of back injuries and medical procedures. She fell in love with the healing potential of flow-based asana practices, yin yoga, pranayama and meditation and is passionate about sharing these practices with others.

Kim completed her 200 hour teacher training at Sukha Yoga Austin and her Level 1 and 2 iRest® Yoga Nidra trainings through the Integrative Restoration Institute ®. She is currently completing a 300 hour training at Yoga Yoga Austin and full iRest certification through the Integrative Restoration Institute.

Kim uses her background in special education and speech-language pathology to inform her yoga teaching, recognizing each individual’s unique needs, as well as our common needs as human beings to be seen and heard. She is eternally grateful to all of her teachers and hopes to serve others by passing on the gifts of their teachings.
